The Equine Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of professional sport horses who, due to injury or the end of their competitive careers, find themselves without a future. These incredible athletes, once champions in their fields, often face abandonment when there is no longer time or money for their care. Most are unsuitable for placement with non-professionals, requiring extensive veterinary attention and long-term rehabilitation. Tragically, without intervention, many are at risk of being sold for slaughter.

These horses, once broken and uncertain, now stand tall, learning to trust again. They run free in open pastures, surrounded by the warmth of a herd, where they can finally be the majestic animals they were born to be.

Their spirits are healing, step by step, as they regain the confidence to connect with others—learning new skills that will help them thrive, both in their natural world as herd members and in the care of the loving hands of their human stewards.
