High School Community Service
Students!!! would you like to embark on an exciting community service adventure at The Equine Sanctuary? Interact with and care for the horses and lots of farm critters? This is a hands-on experience where you will enjoy the great outdoors, learn valuable skills, ranch & land care and contribute to the well-being of the animals at The Equine Sanctuary.
This is more than just an opportunity to complete your school’s community service requirements—it's a chance for you to make a difference while having fun and discovering the joys of ranch life.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful and committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it is the only thing that ever has…” -Margaret Mead
The Community Service commitment gives students the opportunity to learn the following:
That all sentient creatures have value and that life is not disposable.
That bad things happen to good animals and people and how to transform them for good.
Even though life isn’t fair, we all have a choice.
We can’t control circumstances, but we do have the ability to turn our personal tragedies into triumphs if we choose to.
That working together as a team with a vision overrides the differences of personalities.
You will learn the value of contributing to the care and wellbeing of those less fortunate and who cannot care for themselves.
You will learn about responsibility and that other lives depend on you. You can and do make a difference in the world!
You will learn about unconditional love.
You will learn that as they help the horses and animals heal, a part of you heals as well.
